The League Championship Series (LCS) has announced a full rebranding. Similarly to the LCK announcement from this week, the entire identity of the NA LoL Esports league will be overhauled. The league will work off its new slogan “Made by Many.” The new identity has been met with a mixed reaction from journalists, pundits and fans. You can find the announcement video here.
Nintendo has acquired Next Level Games. The Vancouver based studio has worked with Nintendo before, most notably developing Luigi’s Mansion 3. The studio will make a transition from being a second-party partner to a first-party developer for Nintendo. Nintendo says the acquisition will help secure internal development resources and boost collaboration. Financial details of the acquisition haven’t been disclosed, but Nintendo expects it to be a done deal on March 1st. Nintendo will buy out 100 percent of Next Level’s shares and says it should only have a minor effect on its earnings this fiscal year. Sam Byford at The Verge has more.
