The University of Kentucky is partnering with Gen.G to help build its esports program. Bloomberg’s Ebon Novy-Williams reports, “The University of Kentucky is tapping professional esports franchise Gen.G to help build its competitive video-gaming program, a new type of partnership that will span athletics and academics.”

The new mental illness known as “gaming addiction” could be more complicated than first thought. Is it possible that gaming addiction is caused by external factors rather than gaming itself? Ryan Craddock at Nintendolife reports, “A new research study conducted by Oxford University has found insufficient evidence to suggest that gaming should be classified as a clinical disorder. It notes that gamers who are heavily affected by the problem are likely to be suffering from wider, unrelated issues.”
