Amazon pretty much rules the world nowadays. So one big question remains. Why can’t they make a decent video game? Mike Frazzini had never made a video game when he helped start Amazon Game Studios. Eight years later, he has released two duds, withdrew both from stores after a torrent of negative reactions and canceled many more. Jason Schreier and Priya Anand at Bloomberg have compiled a story based on 30 interviews with current and former employees to see what goes wrong at Amazon Game Studios. Some of the answers are more obvious than others. You’ll want to give this one a read.

Anyone who follows North American esports in general have probably heard of “imports.” Bringing in players from other regions to compete here. This is especially prevalent in League of Legends where players from both Europe and Asia come to NA to compete. Kellen Browning at the New York Times tells the story of several of these players who were recruited to NA with promises of huge paychecks and championships. SwordArt and CoreJJ were among those interviewed.
