Nintendo is anticipating a record breaking year in both hardware and software sales. The company is expecting “a much stronger performance than investors are projecting.” These projections are in line with rumors and assumptions that a new model of the Nintendo Switch, a so-called “Pro” version, will be on the way this fiscal year. That along with rumors of the release of the next title in the The Legends of Zelda series and Nintendo could indeed be poised for a strong year. With the world hopefully returning to some semblance of normalcy soon, we may see some strange number for the upcoming year after COVID-19 messed with everything this past year. Star Citizen has now earned more than $350 million in crowdfunding, according to the latest data from Cloud Imperium Games, the game’s developer. Fun reminder, the game has been in production for ten years and is not officially out yet. While playable, Star Citizen has not yet seen its full commercial release. The single-player spin-off, Squadron 42, which has been sold separately since 2016, also does not have a release date. Matthew Handrahan at gamesindustry.biz has more.
