Partnership and investment news:
The Esports Observer’s Trent Murray reports the Houston Outlaws and T-Mobile are partnering. “T-Mobile will provide perks to Houston Outlaws fans, including discounts on its services and VIP seating at official Outlaws events.”
The Esports Observer’s Graham Ashton reports “Edward Gaming (EDG) announced late last week that it has raised close to 100M yuan ($15.7M) in a pre-A funding round.”
Murray also reports that NRG Esports and Nighthawk Pro Gaming signed a sponsorship deal. “The team will have opportunities to participate in boot camps in the NETGEAR headquarters’ new Nighthawk Pro Gaming lounge.”
NBA 2K League:
Murray writes that “Blazer5 Gaming announced a partnership with gaming chair company Secretlab … [and] Wizards District Gaming signed a deal with a regional grocery chain, Giant Food.”
Every sport has a different medical need, and esports is no different. Variety’s John Gaudiosi interviewed “Los Angeles doctor Levi Harrison” about his involvement. Here’s a snippet: “‘When it comes to esports players, the brain is the first instrument players use to strategize, and the second instrument is the body, using your hands, wrists, elbows, and arms…’”
