Monster Hunter is coming to the big screen. The game is in the works to get its own movie, AListDaily’s John Gaudiosi explains. The game is a big success already, having sold over 40 million copies and with some 15 million Chinese players paying to play Monster Hunter Online. “He’s [Paul Anderson] written the script for the first film, which will focus on an American working in a dead-end job who gets dragged into this parallel world where monsters exist and for every creature there’s a hero who can defeat it.”
Uh, cool? If you’re so inclined, you can go on Twitch and control a giant squid Old Spice built. Eight users can each control a tentacle, and the stunt is apparently supposed to promote the company’s newest scent, Krakengard, according to Glixel’s Rachel Weber.
Who does Dota belong to? That question is once again being decided by the courts. “Two developers working on their own mobile versions of Dota are arguing in court that Valve didn’t actually acquire a legitimate, enforceable copyright that encompasses the entirety of Dota‘s development history,” Ars Technica’s Kyle Orland reports. “This question now seems set to go to a jury.”
