Steam now has voice chat (for rational discussions about Valve’s new policies, to be sure) and “flexible friends lists” in beta, according to Engadget’s David Lumb. “Today, the platform introduced new features that users can access today in a beta program, which adds sorely-needed options like voice and group chat.”

Anyway, Apple “changed its App Store rules last week to limit how developers use information about iPhone owners’ friends and other contacts,” Bloomberg’s Sarah Frier and Mark Gurman report, “quietly closing a loophole that let app makers store and share data without many people’s consent.”

Counter Logic Gaming launched a new website, TEO’s Trent Murray reports. “CLG announced a new partnership with website platform Squarespace. Squarespace will be a jersey sponsor for CLG and the team will relaunch its website using Squarespace.”
Mavs Gaming and BEDGEAR are partnering, Murray writes. “BEDGEAR has an existing partnership with Mavs Gaming’s parent organization, the Dallas Mavericks.”
AOC will be a sponsor for the UK Esports Awards, Esports Insider’s David Hollingsworth reports. “The awards will be hosted at the ESL UK studio in Leicester, AOC has a standing relationship with the venue with their monitors being used for the upcoming UK Premiership, which will return for its eighth season.”
Tim Masters “has joined the ranks of esports betting startup Luckbox as its Head of Esports Content,” Esports Insider’s Adam Fitch reports. “Formerly occupying roles such as Editor-in-Chief at GosuGamers and Assistant Editor at EsportsHeaven, Masters has also written for the likes of Ginx TV and VPEsports.”
