The Guerilla Collective Indie Showcase has been postponed. The event was originally supposed to take place this coming weekend (June 6-7th). The event will now be delayed to June 13-15th, and there will be a separate stream “to highlight black voices in our industry” on the 7th. Activision Blizzard shareholders are reportedly upset at the compensation that CEO Bobby Kotick receives. Two proxy advisory service firms have recommended that Activision Blizzard shareholders vote against a proposal to remunerate Kotick in-line with previous years. “Despite repeated low approval votes from shareholders, Activision Blizzard maintains multiple, overlapping opportunities for its CEO to earn outsize equity awards, even when performance-related vesting thresholds have not been met.” Haydn Taylor at Gamesindustry.biz has the full story.
Electronic Arts (EA) is continuing to add more of its games onto Steam. Since returning its games to the platform last October we’ve seen a steady rise in support from the publisher. There was also a promotional image being used on Steam yesterday that claimed that EA Access, EA’s subscription service for access to their games, would be coming to the platform soon.
