NBC Sports is getting in on the Rocket League action. It’s showing a tournament later this summer, the company said Wednesday. The move isn’t surprising, considering ESPN’s ratings debacle and a general trend away from televised analysis and statistics to mobile apps. Broadcasting esports tournaments like Rocket League — a game general audiences wouldn’t have a difficult time picking up on — could bring in much-needed cash.
