Chinese censorship strikes again. This time, China is banning Sina Weibo, ACFUN and lfeng.com from continuing to use video streaming services. “It did not give any specific timeframe for when these programmes should be taken down and whether the move was permanent,” Reuters reports.
“‘This will provide a clean and clear Internet space for the wide number of online users,’ the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television said in a brief statement on its website.” AKA, China doesn’t like platforms that allow for dissenting opinions of the government — and that’s going to hurt the gaming industry.
