New details are emerging out of Ubisoft. There have been reports for weeks now that the culture within the company had been very toxic, and demeaning toward women and minorities. A new report from Jason Schreier at Bloomberg says that it wasn’t just employees affected by culture, but the games themselves. Remember when you had a choice as to what gender you’d take on in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? The creative thinkers behind the game wanted Kassandra, the female protagonist, to be the only protagonist. Executives at the company repeated “women don’t sell” and forced the male protagonist in. All that, and way more.
Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, perhaps better known as Logic has signed an exclusive streaming deal with Twitch. The deal is reportedly worth seven figures. Logic will also reportedly be retiring from rapping entirely and will take to streaming on Twitch regularly. “I’m not this rapper guy, man,” he says. “I’m just a nerd. I love video games.” He also says that he had been streaming on Twitch irregularly anyway, being an active user since 2015. Bijan Stephan at The Verge has the full story.
