Nintendo was reportedly as excited as Blizzard about bringing Diablo III to the Switch. “‘We brought the pitch to Nintendo and they said, ‘What have you guys been waiting for?’ They were pumped. They were as excited as us,”” Blizzard’s Matthew Cederquist told Game Informer’s Ben Reeves.
Shigeru Miyamoto reminded the video game industry not to get too greedy with customers, Bloomberg’s Yuji Nakamura and Yuki Furukawa report. He “said Nintendo Co. is exploring different ways of charging people for games … He called on his peers to deliver titles at fixed prices without over-charging players, which will create more sustainable businesses over the long term.”
Battle for Azeroth can claim the titled of World of Warcrft’s “fastest-selling expansion,” Variety’s Brittany Vincent writes. It has sold over 3.4 million units.
Game of War: Fire Age, since 2013, has made “more than $2.8 billion in player spending,” Sensor Tower reports. “Players in the United States have been responsible for 60 percent of that spending, or nearly $1.7 billion in all.”
