Gamescom 2020 held its virtual opening night event yesterday. The show, produced by Summer Games Fest and Geoff Keighley, was full of reveals, announcements and trailers. For a full breakdown on everything that was announced, you can check out Zack Zweizen at Kotaku.
PlayStation has put up a webpage where existing users can register for a chance to be able to pre-order a PS5 directly from Sony. The website says, “There will be a limited quantity of PS5 consoles available for pre-order, so we will be inviting some of our existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order one from PlayStation.” This will not include other retailers like GameStop, Best Buy or Target for example from having stock and taking pre-orders.
From an outside perspective it is safe to say that it looks like Microsoft has completely bungled Halo Infinite. Now the company must do everything in its power to get the game back on track. It looks like their first big move is to bring back Joseph Staten to senior leadership at 343 Industries. Staten played a large role in developing and writing the earliest Halo titles and had most recently been overseeing another Microsoft-published game.
