The Entertainment Software Association accidentally exposed thousands of journalists’ information online. Journalists who registered to attend E3, ESA’s yearly trade show, had information such as “names, phone numbers, and home addresses” leaked, Digital Trends’ Georgina Torbet reports. “he spreadsheet was available to anyone who clicked a button on the ESA website, compromising the security of over 2000 members of the press.”
Riot Games is working on a fighting game, it was confirmed at this year’s EVO. “The game will be the first all-new project for Riot since the release of League of Legends in 2009. [Tom] Cannon referred to Riot’s upcoming fighting game as ‘the worst-kept secret’ in the universe,” Engadget’s Amrita Khalid writes.
Mixer is already seeing the benefits of its deal to bring Ninja exclusively onto the streaming platform. “Mixer’s Twitter account began to gain followers as a rapid rate. Social Blade data shows that halfway through Friday, the account has gained more than 30K followers, up nearly 10% from 280K followers on August 1,” TEO’s Max Miceli writes. “Prior to Blevins’ first day of streaming, the total number of viewers watching Fortnite on Mixer hovered around, or a little less than, 10K at any given time. During his first live stream from Lollapalooza in Chicago, Blevins was able to consistently keep around 60-70K viewers in the middle of the afternoon.”
