According to a report from industry insider, Michael Pachter, it appears that Sony will once again be skipping E3 this year. An article from Andy Robinson at videogameschronicle.com covers all the information about the upcoming launch of the PS5. The article also covers the when/where part of things, and Pachter says “As far as I know, they don’t plan to attend.”
Microsoft may be ending the idea of the “next-gen exclusive.” When new consoles launch, it’s common for brand new games that can only be found on that new console to launch with them. This will not be the case with the Xbox Series X, according to Xbox’s Matt Booty. Seth Barton at MCV has the full interview.
“As our content comes out over the next year, two years, all of our games, sort of like PC, will play up and down that family of devices,” Booty explains. “We want to make sure that if someone invests in Xbox between now and [Series X] that they feel that they made a good investment and that we’re committed to them with content.”
