YouTube Gaming has released a 2020 report. Ryan Wyatt, Head of Global Gaming for YouTube tells us all about the year that YouTube Gaming had. The numbers are pretty staggering. YouTube Gaming had 100 billion watch time hours so far in 2020. The platform also boasts 40 million unique gaming channels. The report also goes into way more details about specific channel viewership, the big name content creator signings the platform had over the past year and which games performed the best this year. You can find it all right here.
I’m not sure how many of you may have heard, but there is this game coming out tomorrow (or today depending on where you are) called Cyberpunk 2077. One of most anticipated game releases in recent memory will finally come to the public. A review embargo dropped on Monday afternoon, and early critic reviews have been pouring in since. You can find what all of those people have to say about the game so far here. Happy Cyberpunk eve everyone!
And now an update from another one of the years (or should we say next years) most anticipated games. 343 Industries has announced that Halo Infinite is now scheduled for a fall 2021 release window. For those of us at home keeping track this will mean a nearly full year delay for the game from when it was originally scheduled. Joseph Staten shared a lengthy blog post sharing the news, as well as other updates regarding development. You can read it all here. Also shoutout to 343 and Microsoft for making the extremely gutsy, but correct, decision to delay this flagship game. It was clearly not ready, and now we’ll get to enjoy it as it should be.
