Happy Fourth of July!
Sony might not like nostalgia, but it sure does pay. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy hit #1 on the United Kingdom sales charts “for the week ended July 1,” GameSpot’s Tamoor Hussain reports. It’s available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and was released June 30. Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said the game’s popularity could signal good things to come: “So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things.”
Interesting note: Grand Theft Auto V came in at #3 on the charts, despite massive outrage over Take-Two Interactive shutting down modding tool OpenIV for a time, and its Steam reviews tanking as a result. Anger is fleeting, it seems.
On the topic of Sony, it had a little, itty bitty “oopsie” the other day. The company posted an Anthem video to YouTube, but something was amiss. Viewers noticed multiple points in the video when “you can see that PlayStation button prompts were overlayed over the Xbox prompts,” GameSpot’s Eddie Makuch reports.
