Psyonix has cancelled its planned Rocket League World Championship event that was supposed to take place in Dallas during April. If you couldn’t guess why, it’s because of health and safety concerns revolving around the coronavirus. League play for the RLCS will continue, and Psyonix is currently evaluating their options regarding the world championship. The full statement can be found here.
On the next episode of streamer wars…Pokimane is staying on Twitch. Imane “Pokimane” Anys has signed a multiyear contract with Twitch, and will continue to stream on their platform. She made her announcement with a video posted on Twitter. She also made a YouTube video explaining her decision which you can find here. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
The Last of Us is becoming a TV show on HBO. Writer and creative director of the games Neil Druckmann will be involved in writing the script for the show which will be headed by Craig Mazin, who worked on the mini-series Chernobyl. The project is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television in association with PlayStation Productions. It will be the first television series from PlayStation Productions.
