Beam? You mean Mixer. Microsoft’s livestreaming platform has been rebranded with new features to keep up with Twitch and YouTube. “The highlight new addition to Beam is co-streaming, which is a broadcasting option where up to four people can collaboratively livestream gameplay to a single page with its own unified chat room,” Venture Beat’s Jeff Grubb explains. “Mixer is also getting an app on iOS and Android, a dedicated official Mixer channel, and a page of Mixer broadcasters on Xbox One.”
Tekken 7 is getting a $200,000 world tour. Bandai Namco is partnering with Twitch to put on the tournament, which will feature 16 players in November. “The circuit will consist of three regions: the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region,” Dot Esports’ Steve Jurek writes. “Players earn points throughout the year in their own region for their performances at both online and offline tour stops. Competitors are allowed to take part in events in other regions, but they can only earn points in their own regions.”
