It wasn’t too long ago that Nintendo wanted to corner the mobile market. There are now reports from Takashi Mochizuki at Bloomberg saying that Nintendo has no new mobile games in development. The report indicates that Nintendo has been underwhelmed by its mobile games’ financial performance, and is now preferring to concentrate on making games for its own Switch console following the huge success of games like Animal Crossing. “Nintendo’s mobile pipeline is empty.”
Warner Bros. has registered multiple new domains that seem to point to new DC Comics’ games in development. The domains are “suicidesquadgame, gothamknightsgame, and suicidesquadkillthejusticleague.” This could mean that a Suicide Squad, Batman (referring to Gotham Knights) and/or Suicide Squad/Justice League crossover game are on the way. A digital event called DC Fandome is coming up on August 22nd, where it is expected that WB will be showing off some of its new games. Morgan Park at PC Gamer has the full story.
The Chicago Hunstmen and the U.S. Army are partnering. Details of the deal, including financial terms and the length, have not been disclosed. The Army is no stranger to Call of Duty sponsorships, as it also works with the CDL itself. Jonno Nicholson at Esports Insider has more.
The Pacific Championship Series (PCS) and CTBC Bank are partnering. The Southeast Asian League of Legends league has reached a three year agreement with the privately-owned Taiwanese bank. The three-year deal will see the bank assist in the expansion of operations beyond Taiwan, integrating new broadcast production facilities in Bangkok, Thailand, and Singapore.
