Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Jim Ryan squashed any rumors of PlayStation and Xbox mergers in an interview with The Financial Times, Gamasutra’s Chris Kerr writes. He “dismissed the notion that one day we might see the console makers come together in a more meaningful fashion … ‘The two platforms will remain separate, with their separate identities and brands and fans.’”
Advncr, a “recently rebranded umbrella group that houses digital media and video game focused marketing groups and content agencies” expanded to the U.S. and brought on “Wade Beckett and Blair Herter” to guide the expansion, Variety’s Brian Crecente reports.
The Uncharted movie has a release date: Dec. 18, 2020.

MCES raised $2 million in a seed round, TEO’s Andrew Hayward reports. It’s a French organization and the money will help “establish pro rosters, hire professional staff, and establish amateur gaming academies.”

Pinnacle and SpecialEffect are partnering, Esports Insider’s Adam Fitch writes. “The deal includes the sportbook’s donation of headline sponsorship advertising at ECS Season 7 Finals, which takes place over June 6-9th.”
Team Liquid and Blood Centers of America are partnering, Fitch reports. “The deal will result in Team Liquid-branded donation trucks that will travel around North America allowing fans to donate blood. Those who do donate will receive a limited edition ‘Team Liquid Turns Red’ t-shirt.”
