PlayStation did the thing. Two days later and I’ve finally finished picking my jaw up off the floor. One show stopping reveal event later, and we now know that the PS5 will be $499 and will release on November 12th. The PS5 Digital Edition will be $399 and come out the same day. The U.S. Treasury’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) has asked gaming companies, including Riot Games and Epic Games, to provide information on security protocols. The focus of the CFIUS on Tencent-connected video game companies is the latest move against the Chinese conglomerate by U.S. politicians. Riot Games is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tencent Holdings, while the company holds a 40% stake in Fortnite maker Epic Games.
